NEW WARNING
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sent a warning letter to Proctor & Gamble, the manufacturer of Vicks DayQuil Plus Vitamin C and Vicks Nyquil Plus Vitamin C, notifying them that these drugs are being marketed illegally as having drug and dietary ingredients. The FDA claims that these combination products can't be marketed because they haven't been proven safe and effective. Moreover, the FDA previously determined that there is insufficient data to show that vitamin C is safe and effective in treating and preventing the common cold. Vicks DayQuil Plus Vitamin C and Vicks Nyquil Plus Vitamin C are used to treat or lessen cold and flu symptoms.
